Gary Jones, Jr. serves as the Assistant Dean of Students at Oklahoma Christian University. Leading OC’s diversity efforts, Gary is responsible for managing minority retention, creating diversity programming, conducting cultural sensitivity trainings, and policy review & implementation, among other things. Professionally, he is credited for creating and sustaining programs like the annual Civil Rights Movement Spring Break Tour for OC students, as well as special on-campus events like “History Speaks”, which brings living civil rights icons to Oklahoma Christian’s Campus annually. He is also the founder and director of Oklahoma Christian’s John Thompson Leadership Program. This past spring, Gary helped to create and currently co-chairs the university’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.
A native of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Gary has a bachelor’s degree in History/Pre-Law, as well as an MBA in Leadership and Organizational Management, both from Oklahoma Christian University.
In
addition to being a National Director for the National Youth Conference, Gary serves on the Advisory
Council for the EMBARK Leadership Curriculum and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity, Incorporated.

and his wife Jillian are the proud parents of three beautiful girls, Bristal
Addison, Kaleigh Simone, and Savannah Paige.
